      Mit Brandish: The Dark Revenant aus dem Hause Nihon Falcom stellt XSEED auf der E3 ein zweites Spiel für die Sony PlayStation Portable vor. Bei dem bereits 2009 in Japan veröffentlichten Dungeon Crawler handelt es sich um ein Remake des PC-9801/FM Towns/PCE/SNES-Titels Brandish. Der im Westen wenig populäre Originaltitel stach seinerzeit vor allen deshalb aus der Masse heraus, weil trotz der 2D-Vogelperspektive die Kamera immer hinter dem Charakter platziert war. So änderte sich nicht der Sprite, wenn man sich drehte, sondern die Umgebung wurde gedreht. Dies war für zweidimensionale Spiele sehr ungewöhnlich. Das Remake kommt mit kompletter Echtzeit-3D-Grafik daher.

      Erscheinen soll der Titel in den USA nur digital noch 2014. Weitere Informationen sind für die E3 angekündigt.

    • Natürlich nur digital; ab Dienstag in den USA für 19,99, Details für Europa sollen bald folgen.

      Lustige Anekdote: SoA fand das Cover Artwork für den PSN Store zu anstößig, da musste man was anderes nutzen. Man sieht das Artwork nur nach dem Kauf als Hintergrund. :lol:

    • Der Hauptunterschied ist wirklich, dass man jetzt eben eine sich drehende Kamera hat, anstatt der 90 Grad Flip Screens, die die Originalfassungen so schwer spielbar gemacht haben. Immernoch 4-Wege-Steuerung, aber eben mit echten Kameraschwenks für mehr Übersicht.
      Ansonsten gibt es neue Bosskämpfe und nen Extra-Dungeon nach Beendigung

      I guess March release (EU) is not happening?

      Sadly, no. I'm very sorry for the continued delay -- the game is absolutely still coming, it's just not coming without a fight, apparently! I don't know if European submission standards have gotten way more complicated and bureaucratic or if we're just rusty at them, but it's been a comedy of errors trying to get this game approved and scheduled for launch. We'll keep you guys updated, though, as progress is made!
