Cultivated to be bigger and better the ultimate and multimillion-selling farming simulation returns this year! Farming Simulator 22 will come to PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Mac and Stadia in Q4 2021. The game will not only be developed by GIANTS Software but published, too. The international, Swiss -based company is raising the quality by full self - determination.

Once again, the family-friendly game series takes a leap forward. With new features and improvements, Farming Simulator 22 will allow every aspiring farmer to creatively build their farm no matter the age or real - life profession. Either on their own, or cooperatively in multiplayer for up to 8 players on consoles and 16 on PC, Mac and Stadia.

New crops, new maps, new machines, and new brands are just the beginning of what players can expect. And on top of that, it is getting snowy, too - players should prepare for the exciting addition of seasonal cycles – as well as other features to be announced soon! A CGI reveal trailer offers a glimpse of the new game to come.



Pushing snow - and the depths of simulated farming!
Farming Simulator 22 will offer more depth thanks to a variety of new additions and therefore the highest extent of player freedom in the history of the series. Two new maps plus an updated alpine Erlengrat map will put emphasis on different kinds of farming operations through the seasons.

With a set of more than 400 machines and tools from more than 100 authentic agricultural brands including new categories, players can look forward to an improved and realistic-as-ever simulation. But even for new players, it will be easy to dive into agriculture, animal husbandry (including cuter animals) and forestry.

“We are further growing with our games”, comments GIANTS Software CEO Christian Ammann, “and the upcoming result of our cultivated ambitions will be a milestone in the series’ history as well as our company, which developed into a self-determined publisher in full control of its product.”

Creating even more immersive farming worlds
Based on the GIANTS Engine 9, Farming Simulator 22 features many technical improvements such as more realistic AI behavior and richer worlds. Thanks to those worlds, players will be drawn even deeper into the virtual farming lifestyle. For example, motor sounds of their tractors appear even more realistic through acoustic gear selection and graduated reverberation.

Better performance on all platforms: with DirectX 12 support on Windows, texture streaming, multi- threading optimization, occlusion culling and temporal anti-aliasing amidst other optimizations, the newest Farming Simulator will receive a performance boost on all systems laying the foundation for even more complex mod customization to enjoy more content.

Gestern habe ich die gamescom Präsentation bei den Entwicklern mitgemacht und die haben wirklich ein paar tolle neue Dinge ins Spiel implantiert.

Neben der Karte in Frankreich, könnt ihr nun auch Wein & Hirse anbauen - natürlich mit entsprechenden Maschinen. Die 3D & Partikeleffekte wurden deutlich aufgebohrt. Hinzu kommen Jahreszeiten! Wann kann und muss ich was anbauen und machen. Dieses Feature ist allerdings optional abwählbar.

Neue Fahrzeuge, neue Produktketten wie z.B. aus den Tauben Saft fertigen, was mehr Geld einbringt. Neu sind auch Steine auf dem Feld, wenn ihr gubbert. Diese können dann mit einem speziellen Stone Picker gesammelt werden, damit eure Maschinen nicht so schnell verschleißen.

First gameplay trailer reveals European map
Farming Simulator 22 invites farmers to a new Mediterranean environment in Europe. Ideally suited for the new crops; grapes, olives, and sorghum, the French map Haut-Beyleron is perfect for creating an idyllic vineyard landscape. GIANTS Software reveals the last of three maps, included in the game at launch, by showing it off in the brand-new trailer at Gamescom. After the previous cinematic trailer, this also marks the first trailer consisting of actual gameplay footage, revealing many new vehicles and tools.

Growing further: Season Pass announced
First season pass announced: While Farming Simulator 22 offers more content than ever before, including over 400 machines and vehicles, three maps, and brand-new gameplay features like seasonal cycles and production chains, the game will extend even more over time: GIANTS Software starts the evolution of Farming Simulator 22 with the Year 1 Season Pass – including three packs and one larger expansion to be released as DLC within twelve months after release. On top of that, the game will also receive free content updates.

It enables fans to join each other’s experiences platform-independent, and enjoy the creative freedom of cooperative farming together when the game releases on November 22nd for PC, Mac, PlayStation®5 (PS5™), Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation®4, Xbox One, and Stadia.

Rubber boots & mustaches: More individual characters
With even more farmers sharing virtual land to cooperate in their agricultural undertakings, players can also enjoy new options to customize their character: New player models, hairstyles, clothing items, and accessories. Clothing options include authentic branded outfits from Case IH, CLAAS, Fendt, John Deere, and many other major brands in the agricultural industry. German outfitters ELTEN and Engelbert Strauss are also represented with a variety of safety clothing.

Farming will be as sweet and delicious as ever: Developer and publisher GIANTS Software introduces new beekeeping features to produce honey, and greenhouses to grow juicy strawberries, healthy lettuce and tomatoes in Farming Simulator 22. A new trailer also shines light on the livestock animals, even cuter than before, as well as the new wildlife whirling around through fields and forests.

In combination with the new production chains, farmers can extend their operation significantly through more options and produce way more than just the usual crops. This way of direct and local distribution allows for more complexity, especially in multiplayer mode with multiple farmers working together.



Let’s make some money, with honey!The irrefutable importance of bees shows itself in Farming Simulator 22 through various effects on the farm: by placing beehives in proximity to canola, potatoes, and sunflowers, the yield of said crops will rise thanks to pollinating. Of course, the bees also do what bees do best: produce a sweet, golden and viscous substance.

Stored on generated pallets, beekeepers (preferably wearing the new protective beekeeping suit) can either sell honey directly or deliver it to the cereal factory, where it’s used among other ingredients to produce a crunchy breakfast product. While the beehives in varying sizes are productive during warm seasons, they will only serve as a place for a buzzing slumber party when it gets cold.

Greenhouses to secure income during winter
With seasonal cycles coming to Farming Simulator 22, virtual farmers need to prepare for winter. While plowing snow and tending to livestock, additional income can be generated by building greenhouses in varying sizes. With plants and trees withered during the cold months, growing strawberries, lettuce and tomatoes will still provide a green sight - as long as fresh water is provided. And the profitability of the farm during winter is guaranteed.

Creating big US farming operations
Elmcreek is inspired by the North American landscape in the Midwest. Most noticeable is the idyllic out-of town charm, with a gas station, various small businesses, residential areas, even a baseball stadium, and a bowling center spread across the land. Farmers start with a piece of land in the center, allowing them to spread out all over the map.

Over 80 fields in various shapes and sizes are predefined – with the option to create more. Also, thanks to the new production chains, players can extend their operation with various factories to create a whole business empire. In (cross-platform) multiplayer, multiple farmers occupy different locations on the map to complete each other.

Discovering big rocks and hidden caves
Besides agriculture, animal husbandry and forestry, Elm creek has a lot more to offer to its farmers due to its unique landscape. Players can discover a huge canyon with a hidden cave between big rocks, embedded seamlessly into the landscape. Increases and decreases in elevation of the land also allow for beautiful sightseeing spots, railways, rivers, and streams that wind themselves through the scenery.

More content for mobile farmers! The ninth free content update for Farming Simulator 20 is out now on mobile devices and Nintendo Switch. GIANTS Software extends the fleet of agricultural machinery with two new high precision sprayers by Norwegian manufacturer Kverneland. A trailer for the update shows the additions in action.

Plenty of new features and machines, but a much lower environmental footprint: Publisher and developer GIANTS Software released the Precision Farming Free DLC for Farming Simulator 22. Initiated by John Deere and EIT Food, Europe’s leading Food Innovation Initiative, the project is co-funded by the EU and adds various new features for sustainable farming operations. It’s free to download via the official in-game ModHub on PC and consoles.




Increased Sustainability, Thanks to Smart Farming Technology
New gameplay mechanics, based on real smart farming technology, extend the aspect of realism: Including four different soil types and soil sampling, economic analysis and an environmental score to assess the eco-friendliness of farming operations – calculated by factors like reduced tillage, nitrogen levels, weed control using spot-spraying technology and others.

Crop sensors and variable-rate application of resources for yield improvement and crop care help players to save seeds, lime, fertilizer, herbicide, fuel and, in the end, money. All while reducing the environmental impact. On the Precision Farming screen, virtual farmers keep track of their actions and their effects on their environmental footprint, as well as their finances.

New Machines Extend the Gameplay Dynamic
To extend your repertoire of agricultural tools to run a sustainable farm, the Precision Farming Free DLC includes the ISARIA Scout to take soil samples, the ISARA PRO Active and PRO Compact sensors to measure the nitrogen levels of crops and the John Deere R732i with “PowrSpray” spot-spraying technology to dynamically combat weeds. Also included are the John Deere Gator and the Kotte Garant PTR 30.000 with a John Deere manure sensing system to fertilize fields.

The project set out to improve the knowledge of modern agricultural technology in society in cooperation with the University of Hohenheim (Germany), the University of Reading (UK), Grupo AN, the largest cereal cooperative in Spain, and the Institute of Animal Reproduction and Food Research from the Polish Academy of Sciences. The first version of the Precision Farming DLC for Farming Simulator 19 proved a great success, and was downloaded one million times world-wide.

More Machines and a New Brand in Free Content Update
Also now available for Farming Simulator 22 is patch 1.4, required to activate the Precision Farming Free DLC. Included in the patch is another free content update, adding the fan-favourite tractor CLAAS XERION 5000-4000, the ETV 216i forklift by German manufacturer Jungheinrich as well as various implements by Czech company Salek, that is introduced as a new brand to the series. Overall, seven new machines are added to the game, and this new video trailer shows them in action.

Platinum Edition: Hands-on at gamescom
From August 24th to 28th, visitors can experience the upcoming content of the Platinum Edition (including the Platinum Expansion, in addition to the base game) at the Farming Simulator booth (B41) in hall 7. Cultivating fields and forests, gamers get an early preview of the new map Silverrun Forest, the new machines by Volvo Group and many others, and more before launching on November 15th on PC and consoles.

“With the Platinum Edition and its extensive scope of agricultural activities, Farming Simulator 22 becomes the showcase model for virtual farming”, comments Christian Ammann, CEO of publisher GIANTS Software. “We’re immensely excited and glad to present our Farming Simulator universe to the gamescom audience.”

Farming Simulator on Stage
In addition to the gaming stations running the Platinum Edition, GIANTS Software invites gamescom attendees to direct their eyes towards their own stage: Each day, exciting shows await. Meanwhile, the Platinum Edition is presented at 11 am and 3 pm with game demos – showing off new features like cable cranes pulling massive trees and the assembly of a rollercoaster through the delivery of logs.

At 1 pm and 5 pm, another game add-on takes the stage: The Farming Simulator 22: Pumps N’ Hoses Pack by Creative Mesh introduces so-called umbilical systems for efficient manure distribution to Farming Simulator, allowing virtual farmers to lay and combine hundreds of meters of draggable hoses on their soil. The third-party DLC releases on September 27th on PC and consoles.
