Und wieder ein Indie Titel, der wirklich sehr ansehnlich ist! Submerged: Hidden Depths

Canberra-based independent developer, Uppercut Games, is delighted to announce Submerged: Hidden Depths, the sequel to their water-based exploration title, Submerged, will be launching on Steam as well as Xbox and PlayStations consoles.

Submerged: Hidden Depths is a ‘relaxploration’ adventure that sees sibling duo, Miku and Taku, uncover the mysteries of a sunken city in a vast and vibrant world. Lost at sea in their fishing boat, our protagonists will need to scale crumbling skyscrapers, encounter new creatures and solve long abandoned puzzles if they’re to piece together this enigmatic story.

There’s a sensory fullness to Submerged: Hidden Depths that creates a relaxing experience, with rich and colourful environments, soothing sounds of the ocean and calming sunrises. Players are invited to slow down and immerse themselves in the serenity at their own pace.

Following on from award-winning Submerged, Miku and Taku’s adventure will be available on Steam, Xbox One and Xbox Series S/X, plus PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 too. Expanded player tools and puzzles will allow players to continue in awe of the wonders of Submerged: Hidden Depths.

“After creating such a rich and vibrant world in Submerged, we knew we had to return and expand on that sense of sublimity.” commented Ed Orman, Co-founder of Uppercut Games “Submerged: Hidden Depths, while also being a puzzle, combat-free adventure game, is fundamentally about that signature relaxing experience, and the wonder and delight of exploring a stunning world at your own pace. It’s a title close to our hearts and we look forward to sharing the beauty afresh.”.

Sun, sea and silence. In the post-apocalyptic yet stunning world of Submerged: Hidden Depths protagonists Miku and Taku must explore a sunken city, scaling the ruins of skyscrapers and the remains of a lost civilisation to free it from the entrapment of a dark mystery and discover what happened. What remains of the city creates an eerie contrast in Submerged: Hidden Depths as players discover the full richness and beauty of the world, while feeling the emptiness of only the siblings being there to see it.

As a non-combat game, Submerged: Hidden Depths uses tension and relaxation to maintain the atmosphere throughout the game. A significant contributor to that is the delicate soundtrack from BAFTA-Award Winner Jeff Van Dyck, which resonants around the abandoned city, enhancing the player’s full sensory experience.

“It’s remarkable to reflect on our time with Submerged: Hidden Depths. Starting out on Google Stadia to now seeing it launch on PC and console.”, remarked Ed Orman, Co-founder of Uppercut Games “As a team we’ve often found ourselves stretching and learning in creating our games, and Submerged: Hidden Depths was no different. Expanding on what we started in Submerged has been a joy, especially as we’ve been able to stay true to that sense of relaxploration that was at its core.”.
