Sega will ins Filmgeschäft...
Erinnert mich an Marvel, die im Angesicht schrumpfender Comicauflagen ihre Marken erfolgreich ins Kino und TV überführt haben.
Auf einmal erinnert man sich auch an die alten Marken.

Sega Looking To Turn Its Games Into Hollywood Blockbusters
Will the theaters use blast procesing?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To bolster efforts in turning their videogame properties into different forms of entertainment, Sega has hired Evan Cholfin to take on that task. Cholfin will head Stories International, a joint venture of Sega and advertising agency Hakuhodo DY Group who produces films, television shows, and digital entertainment.
Sega is said to be moving ahead on making both live-action and animated films on several of its properties including Altered Beast, Crazy Taxi, Rise of Nightmares, Shinobi, and Streets of Rage. Golden Axe and Virtua Fighter were also mentioned, but not confirmed as projects.
It doesn't look like Sega's main mascot, the blue blur himself Sonic the Hedgehog, is part of this effort. Sonic is currently starring in his own animated series Sonic Boom on Cartoon Network, and is also slated to have a live-action/animated hybrid movie produced by Sony.
Also, Sega is investing in All Nippon Entertainment Works (ANEW) which is expected to help western efforts with access to 20 Japanese rights holders of TV, book, manga, and toys.
Could this be the Genesis of new popularity for Sega characters?
