    DITO! :) Bin SEHR gespannt!

    GamePro (US) vergibt 4/5, 1UP C+ (7/10).

    Zitat

"While the first Nanostray seemed to be an early filler for a lacking DS shooter library, the extra time spent on the sequel seems to have been worth it. Outside of retro ports, there isn't a straight-up shooter on the DS quite like it."

Soll ein Shooter der "alten Schule" sein, sehr schön. :)

    Technisch der BURNER:

    Zitat

Otherwise, the core game is done well. It's a very straightforward Japanese-style shooter, with vertically and horizontally scrolling stages, lots of enemy and stage variety, and even more bullets to dodge. And unlike the first game, there aren't many shifts in the camera angles, making it look and play much more "2D." If nothing else, Nanostray 2 continues to prove that developer Shin'en knows its way around a handheld, showing off impressive antialiased graphics with crystal-clear electronic music and voice samples.

    Spielerisch enttäuschend? Inwiefern? :frown:

    Zitat

All in all, this is one amazing shoot-em up for the Nintendo DS, better than its predecessor in virtually every way. Unless they do something horribly wrong between now and the January release date, expect Nanostray 2 to be the shmup to beat on the DS.

    Reader-Review aus dem GameFaq-Forum vom 16.03.2008:

    Zitat

I've been lurking on this board since Nanostray 2 was announced last year, and now that I have the game, I feel like I would be compromising my loyalty to Shin'en not to provide my opinion on their work, as I understand that some Shin'en officials visit once in awhile.

To begin, I always have and always will believe Iridion II to be Shin'en's best work, and I haven't changed my mind with Nanostray 2. It seems like Nanostray 2 corrects a lot of mistakes made in the original, and at the same time, makes mistakes of it's own that were initially absent. Weighed against each other, I believe Nanostray 2 to be the superior game, but not by the margin I had hoped for when it was announced. For convenience, I'll do a brief rundown of the pros and cons I noticed:

    - PROS -

    - Better music
    - More interactive environments
    - Biological level
    - Horizontal and vertical levels offer variety
    - Satellite system offers more interesting gameplay
    - Vastly improved challenge mode
    - No more touch-screen weapon swap
    - More subweapons
    - Minibosses
    - Longer levels
    - Better cinematics
    - Art direction seems to have taken a step forward
    - Ship speed setting
    - No more 3/4 camera angles
    - No more "coin-magnet"
    - Blue coins don't completely replenish your ammo
    - Difficulty settings are more interesting
    - Voice acting doesn't absolutely suck

    - CONS -

    - Voice acting is still annoying
    - Graphics aren't quite as vivid as the original's
    - Unchangable main weapon is boring
    - Two-player mode is horrible
    - Only eight levels
    - Occasionally unfair /cheap enemy patterns
    - Not enough speed options (either too fast or too slow)
    - Apparently designed for touch-screen gameplay, and yet the touch-screen physics aren't that great

    - Graphics: 8.5/10
It looks like the graphics have taken a blow. Perhaps in an effort to make the environments more interactive, the cinematics used in the original couldn't be used. Still, it looks great for a DS game, and minimal slowdown really helps with the action. Also, the art direction, in my opinion, is more sophisticated. Cool cinematics in the titlescreen and in-game cutscenes do the game some good, too.

    - Sound: 9/10
Like the graphics, the music isn't as technologically sophisticated, but it's much more memorable. There's more variety, and although some tracks are better than others, overall it's a much more satisfying experience. Sound effects are as uninteresting as ever, though.

    - Gameplay: 7.5/10
There are some serious issues with the speed of your ship VS the level design. It seems to me that the levels were almost exclusively designed for touch-screen control, but since the touch-screen control is less than wonderful, it doesn't work out in the game's favor. Regardless, the level design itself is great, with much improved boss patterns and more interesting enemies. I had fun with it, but I didn't have a blast. I sort of wish that your ship had more than one health point.

    - Lasting appeal: 8.5/10
The challenge mode is so much better than the original I don't even recognize it. I'd almost say it's the highlight of the game- specially designed levels and extremely fun challenges make this game worth playing for at least a few weeks after you buy it. I haven't unlocked any simulators yet, but my hopes are certainly high.

    - Overall: 8.2/10
The game suffers from sloppy control mechanics, less impressive presentation, and some frusterating gameplay. This is offset, however, by the fantastic level design, the superior cutscenes, better music, and awesome challenge mode. It's a mixed bag, but I think that any shooter fan will appreciate how much Shin'en has listened to their audience. I sure do, and I'd recommend this game to anyone.

Aber dafür gibts zwei neue Reviews!

    IGN 8.1

    Zitat

    8.0 Presentation
Lots of game modes and weapon options. The vehicle design is rather generic, though.

    8.5 Graphics
Even the title screen is impressive. Plenty of flashy business going on without any slow down.

    8.0 Sound
The music is decent, but it's the sound effects and voice acting that really sell the experience.

    7.5 Gameplay
Fairly standard as far as shooters go, but still fun.
    8.5 Lasting Appeal

The story mode is a good length for a shooter. Beyond that there is a cool challenge mode and mini-games to unlock. Plus, single- and multi-card multiplayer.

    8.1
    Impressive

    Alles anzeigen

    Gamespot 8.0

    Zitat

The multiplayer and Simulator modes leave a bit to be desired, but the Adventure, Arcade, and Challenge modes are quite satisfying. In fact, these modes should offer more than enough to satisfy and challenge both newcomers and pros alike. For classic shoot-'em-up action on the DS, Nanostray 2 is the game to get.
