Tja ich finde Module immer besser :). Haben mehr Leute was davon. Wobei bei downfall reicht ein 1 MB Modul dann ja. Mal schauen wie der Preis ist, ich denke wird aber so bei 50-60€ liegen.

I haven't made a thread on AA yet so have not talked much about it, but I might as well do now since you guys have your own thread here.

downfall+ is a 4MB ROM. It wouldn't work as a CD as it requires that 4MB of ROM space + the 2mb of Jaguar memory to make the magic of the backdrops happen. While the game itself is pretty simple stuff as you know, all that fancy stuff in the background and on the title screen isn't so straight forward (well, it is, but it isn't ). When you're working with Jaguar CD, while you have the benefit of allowing lots of loading if required, you only have the Jaguar's 2MB of memory to play with. That simply wouldn't be enough to pull off the effect. There is cinepak or other streaming, but that's not something we wish to get involved with, it's fraught with potential pitfalls, therefore we only had simple parallax backdrops in the CD version as it's just a single shot 'BJL' game.

downfall+ supports rotary controller and pro controller shoulder buttons if mere d-pad gaming is beneath you ( ). It saves games to cartridge and supports webscores on reboot.atari.org. Our QR code generation for high score entry via smartphone is ready, but we simply ran out of space to include it in this release.

The game does have a version of the Falcon's "Heiko" mode, a game play variation that was inspired by CD-i's amazing and legendary Jaguar downfall video.

It was a surprise to us that downfall would be the game more people requested than any other when asking for cartridges of past titles. Probably not as surprising as the explosion of clones it kick-started such as Fahrfall on the coco, Downfall Amiga, The various PC games... I've lost track, I used to keep a list... and from a game that itself was a clone from the older herbs64 games. We always said it'd not end up on cart unchanged unless it was a multicart. After GGN made the Falcon version, CJ was keen to let the Jaguar keep pace. I certainly took a lot more care and attention creating the Jaguar backdrops than I did the Falcon ones (most of those released were simply tests), still using GGN's excellent purpose-made tool but spending much more time post-processing the results to liven them up (or totally destroy them, as in the case of the title screen!).

Once it's ready to go and I've posted on AA, people will be able to PM me to obtain a copy either there, here or facebook.
