Sudeki = 8.7/10.0
Power: One of the best looking games on Xbox. Stupendous animation and detail. A real visual powerhouse
Style: Rhe Plot is gripping and well concieved, but annoying character voices sometimes get in the way.
Immersion: Sudekis worlds are so attractive that you want to pack up your belongings and move there.
Lifespan: Shorter then KOTOR but there's still about 22-25 hours play. Maybe more if you finish every subquest
Good Points:
* Looks Unbelieveable
* Skill Strikes are Very Satisfying
* AI is Supurb
Bad points
* FPS Combat Requires little Skill
* Grating Accents
* Heroes very cliched

about 22-25 hours play
Für ein Action Adventure viel zu viel... ![]()
IGN-Wertung:
Closing Comments
I love RPGs and am a big fan of traditional roleplaying games. Chrono Trigger, any Final Fantasy game, Golden Sun -- these are games that feature a lot of combat, a lot of story, puzzle elements, and good endings. They aren't secret games people don't know about. If you're gonna make an RPG, these are the type of games you play, that you learn from. Sudeki isn't among the elite RPGs. It isn't Baldur's Gate, either, because there's far too little combat mixed with a lot of very slow-paced story elements that don't really go far enough. If you are an RPG fan, get this game anyway. Why? Because you need something to tide you over until the fall, when several more RPGs arrive. You'll play Sudeki to its conclusion (which took me only 17 hours, with no reason to play again) and you'll probably like (but not love) it. It's a snack before the feast.
Sudeki is good, but it's not great, and with big guns like KOTOR II, Fable, Jade Empire on the way, this is one RPG that will likely be forgotten before the year is over. Still, there aren't many Xbox games to play this summer. Get it now and you'll have it beaten well before the arrival of Fable in September.

7.0 Presentation
The storytelling isn't all that strong, though the story itself is interesting. The overall design choices are sometimes questionable, but the world is unique unto itself.
8.0 Graphics
Self-shadowing, a usually solid framerate, and some nice lighting effects. This is certainly the most colorful RPG on Xbox. Great environments.
7.0 Sound
Overall good voice acting with a variety of European accents. Some of the dialogue is a bit weak. A strong score accentuates the more dramatic combat moments.
8.0 Gameplay
The combat system is my favorite among action RPGs, especially once you hit the halfway point. The in-town stuff and "puzzles" aren't so hot.
7.0 Lasting Appeal
Relatively short for an RPG, the enticing replay elements like unlockable characters and a fishing mini-game have been dropped. Reason to play again? None.
7.8 OVERALL:
(out of 10 / not an average)
Teamxbox-Wertung: 7.9
Sudeki has been a long time coming and, for the most part, the game succeeds in blending action-based combat and semi-deep RPG elements. The combat and user interface is nearly flawless and the high level Spirit Strikes are on par with the flamboyancy of the Final Fantasy series. The problem is that the story takes so long to get interesting that most gamers may become bored and not venture on. Those willing to play through will find a fun, although shallow game that most hardcore RPG fans will find too short. If you like button mashing more than Dragon Dice, then Sudeki is a great choice. Those wanting plot branching and a game that will carry you past 20 hours, you might want to wait for Fable.
Gameplay
The combat system is quite enjoyable with hack and slash melee combat and even some FPS-style shooting. The user interface is easy to navigate, but the overall game lacks the depth of a blockbuster RPG. Why are we forced to use one character for boss battles?
Graphics
Beautiful environments and unique character designs make Sudeki a sweet looking game, but it comes at a price. The framerate stutters here and there, but can’t take away from the overall package.
Sound
A solid performance from the voice actors and a decent amount of dialogue gives Sudeki some life in the audio department. The action can get quite intense and this is further demonstrated through the game’s use of surround sound. The soundtrack does the trick, though a few tracks might put you to sleep.
Longevity
Pretty short as far as RPGs go. Expect to conquer Sudeki in about 20 hours or less and there is no incentive to play through again. The side quests aren’t very exciting and don’t provide worthwhile rewards.
Next Gen
Aside from the great-looking visuals there really isn’t anything special that Sudeki brings to the table. It does everything well, but it struggles to know exactly what it wants to be at times.

Sudeki 2 in Arbeit

[UPDATE] Given Sudeki's lackluster critical reception, many industry watchers wondered why Climax was planning for a sequel. In fact, they're not. "As far as the Climax job posting with Sudeki 2 in it it is actually a typo," said a rep for the developer. "As Microsoft holds the IP to the game Climax would not announce a sequel unless Microsoft approved the project to be done and chose Climax as the developer." In other words, don't expect a Sudeki 2 any time soon.
