Zitat
"Quantum Break's 1080p output is a temporal reconstruction from four previous 720p 4x MSAA frames. This approach gets us high pixel quality in combination with complex shading and effects, allowing us to achieve a cinematic look. However, varying sample counts between passes and temporal upscaling makes talking about resolution, as it is traditionally understood, complicated in the case of Quantum Break. Since the start of Quantum Break's development, the most important thing for Remedy and Microsoft has been delivering a compelling gaming experience with superior artistic quality. This is what Remedy is renowned for. We're confident that we have achieved this, and can't wait to hear what fans think on April 5 when they play the game."
Digital Foundry dazu:ZitatIn effect, we are seeing the technique used in Alan Wake on Xbox 360 as an initial basis - a sub-native resolution paired with excellent 4x MSAA. But crucially, on top of that, visual information from four previous frames is integrated into the current one to increase perceived resolution - explaining how standard pixel counting on static scenes produces a higher result. We'll have more on this, along with a deeper look at Quantum Break's remarkable visuals in our upcoming launch coverage.

Look who's talking!

-
-

Kriege mein Exemplar heute, bin sehr gespannt! The Jimquisition - 8.5/10
Quantum Break is not the most revolutionary of games, and its box of time toys cover what is, at heart, a fairly standardized shooter. However, it carries itself with style and speed to create something genuinely fascinating to play, flavored by a story that, while failing to pay off in the final stretch, is more detailed and engrossing than most in its league.Destructoid - 8.5/10
It's a disappointing realization, but not a damning one. Far from it, actually. Remedy's keen understanding of how to make an action title shines through, and it's every bit a game that has been lovingly crafted for years. Quantum Break won't at all times feel like a game, as the player spends a fair chunk of time relegated to spectator. But, no matter which side Quantum Break is showing, it's always going to be a spectacular one.Game Informer - 8.5
Quantum Break isn’t a perfect game; it’s a bold experiment in how two mediums can tell a larger story, and at times it pays off. It would be foolish for every game to attempt to emulate this form of storytelling, but Quantum Break as a gaming oddity deserves attention. I wish the events of the show were more significant to the main story, but Quantum Break more than makes up for that with some of the best storytelling and gameplay Remedy has ever produced.GameSpot - 6/10
Sadly, Quantum Break's gameplay is essentially divided equally between combat and hapless environment traversal. Given that the entire campaign can be completed in less than 10 hours--live-action episodes included--the distribution of activities feels that much more disappointing. Even if you go back and change your decisions--such as preventing a character from dying--your path essentially remains the same, albeit with a few minor elements remixed to hint at your agency over its plot.Kotaku Despite how pedestrian some aspects of the game may be, I concluded Quantum Break feeling like something new had happened. Something special had happened that more than compensated for some of the flatness of the story and the mostly rote gunplay. A game simply never worked like this before, nor has a TV show. Because of that, what might have otherwise been ordinary feels extraordinary.
Giant Bomb - 2/5
On one hand, Quantum Break fits perfectly into Remedy's timeline, representing something grander and more cinematic than the fake TV shows and other ambitious little elements that have worked their way into the studio's past work. But it's probably telling that I was way more excited to watch Quantum Break's fake in-game TV show on various TVs found around the edges of the game than the one that was actually produced and shoved into the middle of the action.
