    Apologies for the long delay in updating. Unfortunately we've been facing challenges getting information on the physical products - I haven't heard from First Press Games since late April (and even before that was having a lot of difficulty trying to get useful information). It's been extremely frustrating, but I wanted to make sure you all know that we are not shrinking from our obligations and have taken the step to hire legal support to help get this remedied as soon as possible. We are hoping and expecting this can help get things moving quickly.
    While we want to be as transparent as we possibly can, we did have to check if we could explain the situation - our lawyer has advised that, as it is a necessity to update you guys as one of our Kickstarter obligations, it should not be a problem to at least share those plain facts.
    To balance the above, First Press Games did send photos in April of the printed boxes only a couple of weeks later than they had said to expect - they look great, but I personally decided not to share them until I could get a better understanding of the overall progress just in case it might be misrepresentative. It could be a promising sign that progress is being made, I just wasn't quite confident enough to relay it without some additional information. (Eg. if the boxes are final or proofs/samples and the status of other components).
    As of yesterday our lawyer has actually managed to speak to FPG's CEO in person at their office and it's been briefly relayed to me that he was friendly and explained issues they're facing with a supplier. We are currently awaiting a statement with the full details - it would be a huge relief if this is a simple hurdle that can be overcome quickly, and we are of course ready and willing to do whatever we can to assist if so, but for the moment we are waiting for the details to know exactly what the next steps might be."

    "See, right away when the game launched, I was informed by a friend of mine who had interest in the game and had already joined the official discord for Chained Echoes that the dev team had already been warned and pretty much begged by people to not work with FPG. Lots of people burned on preorders and ghosted on refunds, outright telling the development team that the partnership was a bad, bad, bad idea and would not lead to the game coming out in a timely fashion.
    A response from someone on staff? Pretty much high confidence in contracts and the German consumer law and to not worry about it. After all, the devs were in Germany too, and outright know where FPG was stationed! Don’t worry, just trust in the process basically."

    "So… Why is Chained Echoes getting all the focus? Why that priority, and why are the pubs/devs of that game not mad? Well as shown earlier, they openly admitted to already getting paid for the game; unlike some of the other devs FPG ghosted, they got paid ahead of time, likely as part of a kickstarter deal. Thus, why should they care about how long their physical takes? It’ll come when it comes after all. Deck 13 got their money. The Retro/Collector editions fully sold out on both platforms, a rarity for FPG, so FPG is no doubt wanting to get that game done since if their company were to implode fully, it would be the game that would hurt them the most. Thus, every drop of revenue must go back into that one game, nothing else.
    And it became very apparent from how I was sent recent conversations from that discord, that Deck 13 don’t even care to update or inform their own fans on the status of the physical. Pings and questions to D13 staff go completely unanswered, leading to fans to try wild and crazy things to get any sort of response; either to refund requests (also being ignored big time by FPG, per usual), or just when the hell the game is gonna ship out. And well, one of them ties back into the beginning of this whole tale…"

    Puh, ich habe mich durch den echt langen, englischen Text gequält - und bin, vorausgesetzt, das Berichtete stimmt so - immer näher bei den harten Kritikern. Riecht schon arg nach Scam (mittlerweile, sicherlich mal anders gestartet).

    Ich lag mit meinen Einschätzungen bezüglich Linda und Slawo erschreckend richtig, scheinbar. Von dem Mann kaufe ich definitiv kein Chained Echoes 2 mehr.

    Ich habe das bei einem in Deutschland ansässigen Laden mal gemacht, Streitwert über 1000€. Gericht hat zu meinen Gunsten entschieden (klar, die haben einfach nie geliefert). Ein halbes Jahr später warte ich immer noch auf die Hälfte der Summe. Merke: sogar mit Anwalt und gerichtlichem Entscheid kann das Pain in the Ass sein.

    (und ja, ich hatte noch damals im Vorfeld schlau gemacht und ja, die haben auf den ersten Blick immer noch sehr positive Bewertungen auf den einschlägigen Seiten; wer etwas tiefer gräbt, findet Erfahrungsberichte, die dem meinen gleichen)

    Die Postküche wurde saniert, die Opfer entschädigt und der arme Gamefreak hat seine hunderte Pakete, die alle dort seit Monaten lagen ohne dass sie je von der Post weiter befördert wurden finanziell entschädigt bekommen. Das Geld hat er natürlich reumütig und rechtsbewusst an die Käufer zurück überwiesen. Und wenn sie nicht gestorben sind, dann leben sie noch heute.

    @Igno: Selbst mit Rechtschutz wäre die Selbstbeteiligung höher gewesen, zudem.bezweifle ich das sich die bei 55 Euro Streitwert überhaupt gerührt hätte. Ich hätte schon längst eine Onlineanzeige wegen Betrugs gemacht.

    So ganz genau habe ich die Geschichte nicht mehr im Kopf. Aber es gab einen "Verkäufer" hier im Store der die Pakete nie versendet hat und immer nur Ausreden parat hatte, wie eben ein Küchenbrand der Postfiliale von seinem Wohnort. Da sind dann die Pakete angeblich alle verbrannt. Manche haben dann sogar nachgeforscht ob das wirklich stimmt.
    Das makabere an der Sache, die Geschichte hatte einen gewissen Unterhaltungswert. Tatsache ist aber dass viele hereingelegt wurden.

    Jeder kann eine Anzeige aufgeben...ob es war bringt ist eine andere sachen. Bei mir ging es mal um 100 Euro...hat 2 Jahre gedauert mit der Mitteilung das die Person soviel scheisse am backen hat das meine 100 euro noch das kleinste problem sind. Könnte ich dann bitte zivil einklagen. Nein Danke, nein.
